After WWII SAS was looking for a replacement aircraft for its DC3s. The SAAB Scandia was never the success the company hoped for (and it was lacking a pressurized cabin).

It was not until 1955 that SAS agreed with Convair for an order of 11 aircrafts, with an option of yet another 12. The option was turned into an order 1956 but only 9 aircrafts was to be delivered. So in total, SAS operated 20 CV440 aircrafts. The aircraft type was flowned by SAS almost for 20 years up until 1975.

It's not painted in SAS colours.

It is snow on the ground. You could see old american cars in the background.
Dating could be early 1958 ...

SE-BSY arrived Oslo on March 5 1958 on its delivery flight!
